The Venice Jazz Band – An Exquisite Jazz Ensemble Based in Venice, Italy

The Venice Jazz Band presents a meticulously curated repertoire spanning the golden era from 1901 through the beloved classics of the 1950s, performed with impeccable elegance and refined sensibility. The musicians who comprise The Venice Jazz Band represent some of the most accomplished jazz talents in northern Italy, a distinguished collective that has performed together since the band’s inception in 2005. Their repertoire encompasses dixieland, ragtime, swing, gypsy jazz, and celebrated American songs from 1901 to 1950, with occasional bespoke acoustic interpretations of pop and rock selections. In collaboration with guest vocalists, the ensemble also offers an exquisite array of Bossa, Latin, and Bolero arrangements, available upon request.

The band is regularly engaged for weddings and distinguished events at prestigious venues including Hotel Belmond Cipriani, Rifugio Pomedes in Belluno, Hotel Palazzo Pianca in Venice, and Castello Rubein in Merano, Italy.

The band graciously accommodates virtually any repertoire request, refined to suit the client’s vision within thoughtfully considered parameters. The ensemble functions as an extended family of musicians, its configuration adapting to the client’s specific desires and budget—from an intimate duo to a full ensemble of six or seven musicians. Despite the variety of instrumentation, the signature element remains the band’s distinctive acoustic warmth, relying almost exclusively on unamplified instruments, allowing performances with or without amplification across a diverse range of settings.

The instrumental palette includes clarinet, guitar, banjo, double bass, drums, vocals, violin, and saxophone. The Venice Jazz Band collaborates with premier sound services in the region and can seamlessly arrange all necessary audio instrumentation to suit any location. The ensemble performs regularly throughout Italy and possesses an intimate knowledge of Venice’s unique logistical considerations, leveraging a trusted network of local collaborators to ensure an impeccably smooth concert setup and execution on the island.
